Boston Spa Scarecrow Trail 2025

“Heroes and Villains”

    

 

 

 

 

Dear  Resident or business owner,

The Boston Spa Scarecrow Trail will take place from Wed 9th to Tues 15th July. The Trail will cover Boston Spa,  Thorp Arch & Clifford.

The theme is “Heroes and Villains”, the plan as usual is to take a broad view of the theme so it could be:

  • Wars (2025 is the 80th anniversary of the end of WW2)
  • Characters in the News
  • Space explorers
  • Characters from TV programmes, Films, Books and Comics

It has been suggested that the scarecrows should be made of straw, alternatively use materials which fit into the category: “Reduce, reuse or recycle”.

There will be 1st and 2nd prizes for the builder of the best scarecrow characters or creation, the winners will be determined by public vote.  There will also be 1st and 2nd prizes for entrants getting the most characters or creations correct.

 

All entries to be in by Friday 16th May and you will receive an email confirmation that your entry has been received.

 

DISPLAY PACK DELIVERY: We will deliver your numbered entry card to be displayed alongside your creation and a letter with the start and end dates by Fri 30th May.

 

All Scarecrows are to be in position by Wednesday 9th July and left on display until 8pm Tuesday 15th July  Once the public votes are in, the winners will be contacted by phone, and a printed list will be on display in Yeadons, Costcutter, Monroes and Facebook.
